MY STORY
Thuy Pham started cooking at age eight, but her journey to a professional kitchen began as a pandemic side hustle. When restrictions crushed her career as a high-end professional stylist, Thuy took to live-streaming how to show the world her vegan pork belly and other plant-based recipes. The public loved it, and when people started reaching out to ask where they could buy her food, the seed for what soon became her restaurant Mama Dut was planted--first as a pop-up, then a bricks and mortar location, and now one Portland’s hottest neighborhood restaurants known for Thuy’s fun, bold, expressive plant-based cooking inspired by the flavors of her Vietnamese American childhood. Thuy is now working on a second location, and has quickly become one of the most recognizable and respected members of the Portland chef community.
